Basicaly every 18, 22 and 36-note music box is provided with one tune. The 36, 50, 72, and 144-note music boxes are provided with 1, 2 or 3 tunes.

Nevertheless, special musical movements (17-note movements) are manufactured for pocket watches. If necessary 30-note movements disc music boxes can be affordable.

All the designs which decorate our music boxes and musical jewelry boxes are genuine inlay work. This meticulous puzzle-like assembly of pieces of wood requires up to 15 different varieties of wood. In most cases, the designs are exclusive to Reuge.

The best cabinet-makers have been selected in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France so that they can work in line with their respective traditions and enhance Reuge mechanical marvels. The particular variety of woods (originating for the most part from Europe and the United States), the drying process, assembly and varnish, all contribute towards the making of exceptional music boxes which are veritable collectors'items.
